Green Toilet 120 Family is suitable for both new and old outhouses. Composting is based on the efficient operation of a liquid-separating double bottom. Maintenance is easy and quick thanks to the replacement tank. The cleverly sized tank is also easy to move.

The Green Toilet separates liquid from solid waste using the double-bottom structure of the tank. The tank is equipped with wheels, so emptying takes only a few minutes. The Green Toilet composting toilet does not require electricity or a sewer connection to operate.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

Inside the Green Toilet composting tank is a unique double bottom that separates excess liquid from the compost. This way, composting begins already during use. The double bottom works like a self-watering pot familiar to everyone: excess liquid drains out, but if necessary, some of the liquid can also be absorbed back into the compost mass, accelerating the composting process. The prerequisite for efficient composting is that the mass is suitably moist: neither too wet nor too dry.

The use of Green Toilet is based on batch composting: when the in-use tank is full, it is wheeled out and a replacement tank is put in its place. A sealed lid is placed on the full tank, and it can be left to compost completely in peace. This way, the maintenance of the dry toilet takes only a few minutes, and raw toilet waste does not need to be handled at all. The full replacement tank can be left to compost until the next change. At this point, the contents of the replacement tank are likely already ready to be used for soil improvement.

In addition to composting, the Green Toilet's ventilation pipe guarantees odorlessness. It ensures that the airflow is in the correct direction: from the seat and compost tank out through the ventilation pipe. It also significantly affects liquid evaporation, especially in warm weather, when less leachate is produced.

Excess liquid from the composting toilet, i.e., leachate, separates from the compost thanks to the double bottom and flows down the liquid hose at the bottom into a collection canister. An alternative treatment method for leachate is to direct it to a GeoTrap Outfouse Filter and absorb it into the terrain after purification.

We are transitioning from dark green plastic granules to black recycled material, which is a durable, high-quality, and environmentally responsible choice. This change only affects the product's appearance – dimensions, functionality, quality, and pricing remain completely unchanged. Timeless black suits a variety of environments and makes the products an even more versatile choice.

INSTALLATION

The product comes with clear pictorial installation and operating instructions.

The entire composting tank and waste chute fit under the seat pedestal. The Green Toilet's waste chute is adjustable: it can be set 1-30 cm above the tank. Below the seat pedestal, there should be at least about 72 cm of space for the tank and a minimum of 60 cm wide opening at the back of the outhouse. If necessary, additional space can often be obtained by digging out earth from under the seat pedestal or by raising the outhouse or seat pedestal. If the waste chute remains at a lower level, the excess part can be sawn off.

The ventilation pipe is often routed up along the outer wall of the outhouse or house. Ventilation works best when the pipe is routed as straight up as possible and preferably over the ridge. If needed, all ventilation pipe accessories can be purchased separately from us if the basic package is not sufficient.

HOW TO MAINTAIN THE GREEN TOILET COMPOSTING TOILET

When the Green Toilet tank fills up, the first flexible part of the ventilation pipe and the liquid hose are detached from the tank. The wheel set is placed in its groove in the tank, if not already in place. All these operations are done manually without tools. After this, the tank is wheeled out of its place.

When using a replacement tank, its bottom is lined with bulking material to a thickness of about 10-15 cm. After this, the chute lid is placed on top of the empty tank and positioned under the seat. A sealed lid is placed on the full Green Toilet tank, and it can be moved to a suitable place for post-composting until the next change.

APPLICATIONS

The Green Toilet 120 Family is well suited as a dry toilet for cottages and holiday homes, both in outhouses and indoors. In terms of volume, it is suitable for seasonal use by 4-6 people, in which case one change per summer season is usually sufficient. Additional replacement tanks can be purchased as needed, allowing the Green Toilet 120 to be used year-round in permanent residences.
