Haghus Small Rice Cooker, 12 x 13 x 16.5 cm
A rice cooker is a convenient choice for a trip, as it takes up very little space.
A twig stove is the choice of the minimalist hiker. It consists of a collapsible metal frame, inside which—as the name suggests—twigs are burned. Pine cones, wood chips, birch bark, and similar materials can also be used as fuel; these are always quickly gathered on-site. The twig stove is lightweight and compact. It comes in a handy little polyester bag. This makes it easy to carry in a thigh pocket or a side pocket of your backpack, for example. The stove itself is made of stainless steel.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: First, assemble the stove so it is ready for use. Build a fire inside the stove using twigs or kindling, for example. Once the fire is lit, place a pot, pan, or skillet on top of the stove. If it’s windy, use a windbreak around the stove. Add twigs to the stove so that the flame burns brightly. The twig stove brings water to a boil in less than ten minutes (0.75 L). When using the stove outdoors, place it in a location where there are no flammable materials underneath it.
ATTENTION: For fire safety reasons, stoves that heat up from the bottom or emit sparks—such as a wood-burning stove—are considered equivalent to an open fire; therefore, a wood-burning stove must not be used during a forest fire warning! The wood-burning stove is ideal for hikers and those who enjoy cooking over an open fire—especially those who prefer not to use non-renewable fuels. It also adds to the atmosphere!
