Pikkuvihreä's Drum Composter has been specifically designed to create ideal composting conditions, so that anyone can quickly and effortlessly turn kitchen waste from home and cottage into soil and fertilizer. In ordinary home composters, the compost mass often easily compacts too airtight, blocking oxygen access and slowing down composting. For this reason, composters often need to be "worked" with a mixing rod or a pitchfork, for example. In the drum composter, however, this problem has been solved with a convenient rotating drum and air inlets placed on the sides, meaning that traditional poking and stirring of the compost are not necessary at all.

Special attention has also been paid to the matte black color in the design of the drum composter, which means it heats up faster in the sun than ordinary composters and, for example, thaws any frozen compost mass early in the spring.

The material of the drum composter is thick and hard plastic, which rodents cannot get through. The air inlets are also small, preventing small animals from entering the compost.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The drum composter has a large lid, 40 cm in diameter, which can be easily opened by the handle. Organic waste and any bulking agent are placed inside. Each time material is added, the drum should be gently rocked from side to side to aerate and mix the mass. Inside the drum, there are separate mixing spikes that enhance the compost's mixing. The drum can be locked in a specific position with a locking pin if desired.

Pikkuvihreä's Drum Composter has sturdy wheels that facilitate moving and emptying the composter wherever you use it. The crank parts are made of solid metal, ensuring long-lasting use. Emptying is effortless, as the Drum Composter can be wheeled directly to the emptying site and the drum turned upside down.

In summer, the Drum Composter can heat up to over 50°C, processing kitchen waste in just a few weeks. With the help of the wheels, the composter can always be moved to a suitable sunny spot in the yard.

APPLICATIONS

Pikkuvihreä Drum Composter is well-suited for processing household kitchen waste. Mixing, air inlets, and the black color enhance composting, so the volume is usually sufficient for household organic waste. Although the drum is not insulated, it operates until freezing temperatures and resumes operation with the spring sun. It is advisable to start the winter season with a relatively empty tank and schedule emptying for late autumn.
